Director of Health Services
Deborah (Deb) Landin, Licensed School Nurse, is the Director of Health Services.
School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success and life-long achievement and health of students. To that end, I, as school nurse, facilitates positive student responses to normal development; promotes health and safety including a healthy environment; intervenes with actual and potential health problems; provides case management services; and actively collaborates with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self advocacy, and learning.
I would like to introduce myself to you. I have been the District School Nurse for over 25 years. I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and then graduated from the University of North Dakota College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have continued my education by attending workshops, conferences, school nurse trainings, taking classes, and have been a member of various committees with both the MN Department of Education and the MN Department of Human Services. I am currently studying for the National Board for Certification of School Nurses Exam which is a huge undertaking.
I am married to Keith Landin. Keith is the facilities engineer manager at Marvin Windows. Keith and our four sons are all graduates of Warroad. Our youngest son, Erick is a student at Concordia College. We have six grandchildren of which only one is a girl. Boys do dominate in our family as I also have three brothers. My Dad died in 2015, but I am blessed to still have a wonderful Mom who is my best friend.
In my spare time, I like to attend sporting events, fish, decorate my home, flower garden, shop, scrapbook, read, bake, entertain and travel. I am also active in the community of Warroad and Zion Lutheran Church.
I have been the writer of numerous grants for the Warroad School District. These grants have funded the Kid Kare program, Project AWAKE, the building of the outdoor basketball court, individual school projects, equipment, and others.
